I can&#8217;t give any statements now,&#8221; FIFA spokesman Markus Siegler said.<\/p>\n<p>Materazzi, meanwhile, was quoted as denying the terrorist comment<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is absolutely not true, I didn&#8217;t call him a terrorist, I don&#8217;t know anything about that,&#8221; the Italian news agency ANSA quoted Materazzi as saying when he arrived with his team at an Italian military airfield.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lying mafiosi&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesonline.co.uk\/article\/0,,28783-2263995,00.html\">The Times<\/a> adds:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With many conflicting versions of events circling on the internet and in the world&#8217;s media, The Times enlisted the help of an expert lip reader, Jessica Rees, to determine the precise nature of the dialogue that caused Zidane to react in such a manner.<\/p>\n<p>After an exhaustive study of the match video, and with the help of an Italian translator, Rees claimed that Materazzi called Zidane &#8220;the son of a terrorist whore&#8221; before adding &#8220;so just f*** off&#8221; for good measure, supporting the natural assumption that the Frenchman must have been grievously insulted.<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong><br \/>Update 2: <\/strong>See below for SP&#8217;s comment on a Le Monde article that suggests Zidane&#8217;s sister may have been insulted, as well as his mother.
