{"id":1289,"date":"2006-07-25T12:54:02","date_gmt":"2006-07-25T12:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amrani.cc\/wp\/?p=1289"},"modified":"2006-07-25T12:54:02","modified_gmt":"2006-07-25T12:54:02","slug":"2006-7-25-more-on-anti-torture-website-html","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/amrani.cc\/wp\/?p=1289","title":{"rendered":"More on anti-torture website"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-src=\"v5\">I posted before something on <a title=\"Reporting torturers\" href=\"\/archives\/2006\/07\/21\/reporting-torturers\/\">one of my favorite human rights websites<\/a> that monitors torturers in Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>I received a message from the website editor, with more background information:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tortureinegypt.net\/\">This website<\/a> was founded last January, aiming at covering news about torture crimes committed by Egyptian Ministry of Interior. The working team of torture in Egypt believes that raising people&#8217;s awareness of their rights is the first step to create a solid anti-torture movement.<br \/>I was the first member who joined the website staff, now we are a growing team editing, searching, publishing news and reports about torture crimes committed in Egypt by the interior ministry, and support those whose rights were violated.<\/p>\n<p>Now, here is our story&#8230;<br \/>March 2005<br \/>Me sitting staring at my PC, a scream came from one of <a title=\"Al-Nadeem archives\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hrinfo.net\/egypt\/nadeem\/\">Al-Nadeem<\/a> reports: &#8220;They should die otherwise we will do!&#8221; It was a woman telling here experience in a police station, meaning by&#8221; they&#8221; the police officers.&#8221; Nothing could compensate what I suffered,&#8221; she explained.<\/p>\n<p>26 June 2005<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.manalaa.net\/\">Alaa <\/a>is standing in a <a title=\"Anti-Torture demo pix\" href=\"http:\/\/misrdigital.blogspirit.com\/files\/coverage\/lazogly26jun05.htm\">demonstration <\/a>lifting a banner says &#8220;religion is for God and torture is for all!&#8221;<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/journal.gharbeia.net\/\"> Amr<\/a> came to the demo, carrying a huge list contained names of men, women, young, old, Muslims, Copts, political activists, criminals, innocents\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 etc. All were tortured by the <a title=\"Interior Ministry blamed for police brutality\" href=\"http:\/\/www.metimes.com\/articles\/normal.php?StoryID=20060531-102340-9231r\">interior ministry heroes<\/a>. Some of them were tortured to death.<\/p>\n<p>August 2005:<br \/>Me again in front of my PC trying to build a <a title=\"Original torture montioring blog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ta3zeeb.blogspot.com\/\">blog<\/a>, where I can publish some simple researches about torture I prepared.<br \/>I sent an email to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.manalaa.net\/\">Alaa<\/a> seeking his help.
