I don’t know where this aired exactly, but this extremely well-made commercial against suicide bombings is a bit disturbing. The special effects seem to glamorize suicide bombing more than anything else (I think the look was partly stolen from the bad hacker movie Swordfish). But the message is a good one.
Issandr, I saw this ad on one of the MBC channels. (Al-Arabiya is part of this). They’ve been running for at least two years now ads asking Iraqis to report “terrorists”, or ads to encourage Iraqis to join the Iraqi police.
It looks very Hollywood.
It has the same look as all those Iraqi govt ads that were airing on Al-Arabiya last year, you know, the ones with the sha3b happily listening to town hall debates on the qahwa radio as they industriously repair cars…
