How nice that students somewhere are paying attention. Any word on the London demo?
Well, since Secretary Rice didn’t seem to have much of an effect, it looks like it’s all up to the SOAS Student Union at this point. C’mon, kids! Have at ’em!
A shorter attention span than the Bush administration on Egypt, really? Is that possible?
Speaking of which, Sandmonkey noted in his post on protests yesterday that the Canadian embassy responded to a call from one of its citizens trapped at the press syndicate after state security wouldn’t let her leave, while US citizens got the phone slammed down on them. Wonderful job the embassy is doing protecting its citizens. Yes, yes, I know they just advise you to not get involved in demonstrations and so on – it’s all about respecting local repressive laws when it suits them and protesting them when it doesn’t, in places like Iran. For shame.

SOAS students have been known to have short-term memory problems, let’s hope they don’t forget.
I’ll be a postgraduate student at SOAS next year, I’ll try to remind them.

The short attention span thing was a reference to, in my days there, the large number of keen horticulturalists spending their time in the bar.
